About the event
The details of the day’s activities are as follows:
GOLF: Tee times will start at 12:00. All players should report to the pro shop 30 minutes prior to their tee time. Reservations for golf should be made by completing the enclosed Registration Form and mailing it with the appropriate fee to Ms. Mudlaff. Please remember when making your reservations that each foursome must include a member of Congressional and we have limited tee times, which we anticipate will fill up quickly. If you are making reservations for more than one and do not have a club member for your foursome, please reserve for only up to three and a club member will be assigned to you. Carts are available, and each foursome will have at least one caddie. Please do not switch foursomes after assignments have been made. Collared shirts, Bermuda-length shorts, or slacks (or skirts for women) are required. Baseball hats with the visor forward, if you please, soft spikes, and no cell telephones or tablets.
LUNCH: The “Stop and Go” next to the 10th tee, Blue Course (just ask) will be open. Just announce yourself as being with The Barristers, hosted by Robert Bittman.
TENNIS: Tennis will be offered this year if there is enough interest and there is one Congressional member for each court. Those interested should contact Ms. Mudlaff. Attire: Tennis whites only with smooth-soled footwear. We will then make the arrangements. Tennis will start at 3:00 p.m.
COCKTAILS: Cocktails from an Open Bar will begin after golf in the Windsor Room and Terrace above the Golf Pro Shop from 5 p.m. until dinner. For those interested in attending cocktails ONLY, the cost is $50.
DINNER: Dinner, with wine, will be served in the Windsor Room at 7:00 p.m. Sports attire is permitted. Dinner will be billed separately after the event, usually around $150.00. Weather permitting, dinner may be outside on the Windsor Terrace.
LOCKER ROOMS: Locker rooms are available in advance of and following athletic activities.

We will have the traditional awards for Barristers and for Guests for low gross, runner up, low net, runner up, longest drive for men, longest drive for women, closest to the pin, and, of course, possession of the Past President’s Cup for Barrister low gross. For anyone without an established USGA handicap, the participant may provide five scorecards (needed for course rating) and the participant will be assigned a handicap for the day.
We will have suitable awards for Barristers and Guests for Tennis.
Payments should be made payable to The Barristers and sent to Ms. Colleen Mudlaff along with the Registration Form. Caddie gratuities are required (at least $30 for the forecaddie and $50 if the caddie carries your bag) and must be paid in cash by the player directly to the caddie immediately after golf on September 26, 2024.
RESPONSES: All active and inactive Barristers wishing to play golf or tennis should send the enclosed form and check in the appropriate amount to Ms. Colleen Mudlaff to arrive no later than September 19, 2024. Congressional members of the Barristers are particularly encouraged to support this event to meet the Club requirement of one Congressional member for each foursome. And remember, this is a charming event to which you can bring guests, especially members of the judiciary.
We look forward to a full turnout of active and inactive members to participate in the sportsmanship and good camaraderie at this perennial showcase of Barrister athleticism.
